CLEANING YOUR STAINLESS STEEL COOKWARE |

Burned Foods The worst part about burning a meal in Vita Craft is that your family will never let you live it down. The good news is, you can destroy the evidence without throwing away the pan.
With a little effort, you really can remove burn stains completely. Fill the pan with hot water in a hot pan, cold water in a cold pan. Let soak and clean as usual. If a stubborn burn has been created, partly fill the pan with water and bring to a boil. Use a wooden spoon to remove burned particles. If a stain remains, remove with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner like Barkeepers Friend.
Heat Tints Occasionally, when cooking starchy foods or searing meats, a stain may appear on the inside surface of the pan. A blue or golden brown discoloration may appear from overheating a unit. These stains are easily removed with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. First, make a paste with the cleaner and water. Then, using a paper towel or cloth, rub the paste over the stained area, rinse and dry.
Warp Resistant Units Your stainless steel utensils feature extra rigidity and strength to prevent warping. Units hug the burner for maximum heating efficiency and will stay flat and in shape with proper care. Never put cold water into any hot utensil; heat utensils gradually, never use high heat. Should a lid lock, simply re-heat the pan.
Surface Care While stainless steel is an extremely durable metal, it is not impervious to corrosion or spotting. Mustard, mayonnaise, lemon juice, tomatoes, vinegar, salt, dressings and condiments may etch or spot stainless steel if allowed to remain in contact with the surface for a period of time, as will strong bleaches. These spots do not affect the performance of the utensil, nor are they a defect in the metal or workmanship. Salt, if used, should be added to boiling liquid and stirred to completely dissolve the salt. Do not allow acidic foods or foods that have been seasoned to be stored or remain in utensils for long periods of time.
Dried Fruits Do not cover sulfur dried foods or foods labeled sulfites added as it may stain the cover. Boil liquid for 10 minutes prior to covering when cooking these foods.
